Most students in the Russian Flagship Program spend at least one summer in Madison enrolled in intensive Russian language courses, during which students are able to complete two semesters of Russian coursework in just 8 weeks. Check out the below video to see what summer Russian is like or scroll down for details on summer 2018.
Intensive summer Russian courses are open to anyone, not just to Russian Flagship students. You do not need to be a current UW-Madison student to enroll, but must apply as a special student at least one month in advance. Students with prior experience in Russian from outside of post-secondary educational settings should contact Dr. Anna Tumarkin in advance for a placement test. More information on how to enroll as a special student.
