Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowships

Foreign Language and Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships are awarded for the summer or academic year in order to assist undergraduate students in completing intensive language study with an emphasis on area studies. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Summer fellowships of a fixed amount are for intensive language programs either domestically or abroad. Anticipated awards are $5,000 for tuition and a $2,500 subsistence allowance for the summer. Students at UW-Madison must apply directly to CREECA for awards to study Russian.

Language Flagship Scholarships

Students of the Russian Flagship Program may apply for Language Flagship Scholarship funding for designated intensive summer programs in the United States.
